Kailash is the
source of four great Asian rivers and a
pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash, the sacred mountain
of Tibet is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists.
The power of this strange, domed peak has
gripped the imagination of the people of Nepal,
India and Tibet since thousands of years and
more peoples from all over the world are willing
to see it in reality. This is one of the best
tours for those of time conscious people.
Generally we drive you to Kailash or Zhangmu
border for this trip which is also beautiful
trails and all the way back to Kathmandu also
scenic adventure. The total journey is of 3/4
weeks as per Itinerary designed and the maximum
elevation is 5630m. After a short visit of
Katmandu you will fly past the ice peaks of
Nepal such Kanchanjungha, Makalu and Mt. Everest
to Lhasa, the spiritual center of Tibet visited
by pilgrims from all parts of the country.
Mingling with them you wander around the
Jhokhang, Tibet's holiest temple. You will visit
the mighty Potala Palace.
Perched high above the old city it is the
landmark of Lhasa. Then we embark on our journey
along the southern route to western Tibet by
jeep. Incredible views of the Himalayas and the
Trans-Himalayas make up for the long, up to
12-hour drives on rough roads. En route we visit
Tashilhunpo in Shigatse and the Khumbum chorten,
rich in murals and statues in Gyantse. Our
destination is the 'Center of the World', as the
Tibetans refer to Kailash. 6714m above see level
towers the scenic and white snow pyramid. Prayer
flags on the Dolma La (5600m) greet you on your
circumambulation of Kailash, which takes three
days. We suggest to our valid customer should
have prepared to walk through landslide zones in
Nepal on the first and last day (especially
during the July and August trips). Our trekking
crews manage all the food and camping equipment
you required during the tour from Kathmandu. We
can break the tour if any customer would not
like to go as planning in the Itinerary and do
not hesitate to tell us your customized
itinerary for better cost, information and
timely conduct.
